Waterford Crystal
About Waterford
Waterford crystal was first made in 1783 by brothers George and William Penrose in the port city of Waterford, Ireland. The original glassworks closed in 1851, and Waterford was revived in 1947. Its deeply cut, brilliant lead crystal became a symbol of celebration, from wedding toasts to the New Year's Eve ball in Times Square. Lismore, introduced in 1952, is one of the best-selling crystal patterns in the world.
